Pedro DUQUE

Pedro Duque, born on 14 March 1963 in Madrid, Spain, is an accomplished astronaut and engineer. He graduated with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica in Madrid in 1986. Selected by the European Space Agency (ESA) in 1992, Pedro has participated in multiple space missions, including the STS-95 Space Shuttle mission and the 2003 Cervantes mission on the International Space Station.

In addition to his spaceflight experience, Pedro has held key roles at ESA, contributing to projects such as the Columbus laboratory and the Cupola module on the ISS. He also served as the Director of Operations for the Spanish User Support Centre and was Managing Director of Deimos Imaging. In 2018, Pedro was appointed as Spain's Minister for Science, Innovation, and Universities.

Pedro has received several prestigious awards, including the Russian Order of Friendship and the Great Cross of Aeronautical Merit from Spain.
