Dr. Volz has more than 30 years of professional experience in aerospace. As the head of NESDIS, servation data to further the dehe sets the strategic vision and implementation objectives for the Nation’s civilian operational earth observing satellite fleet. He is a leader in the international Earth observation community, serving as the NOAA Principal to the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS) and to the Coordination Group for Meteorological Satellites (CGMS). He also serves as the NOAA and US Principal to the Executive Committee (ExCom) of the international Group on Earth Observations (GEO). In each of these roles Dr. Volz leads efforts to coordinate global satellite-based observations among international space agency partners and interested users of remote sensing earth obvelopment of a Global Earth Observation System of Systems, and to meet the global weather and environmental monitoring and forecasting efforts.
