This Day In Space — 1 November

On November 1, 1978 Vera Rubin, a well known astronomer published an article in the Astrophysical Journal about her discovery of Dark Matter form of matter that accounts for approximately 80% of the matter in the universe. Throughout her life’s work, she focused on Dark Matter and opened the doorways to many theories. Many believe she was unjustly denied a Nobel Prize.
