It was the first European mission to Mars
On June 2, 2003 the European Space Agency launched Mars Express from Baikonur
Upon arrival six months later Mars Express began the most complete exploration of Mars ever
Since then it has discovered valuable information including strong evidence of a former ocean on Mars
