SETI Institute

The SETI Institute is a private non-profit research institute focusing on the search for extraterrestrial life. Areas of focus are radio technosignature searches using the Institute's own radio telescope facility in conjunction with telescopes operated by the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO), Exoplanet studies using NASA's TESS satellite, planetary sciences with emphasis on habitability, specifically related to Mars and Europa. Astrobiology and extremophile research in the arctic, antarctic and high altitude domains, for example the Altiplano region of Chile. Research is primarily federally funded by NASA and the National Science Foundation, along with private donations and foundation support.
