Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology (SAASST)

Sharjah Academy of Astronomy, Space Sciences & Technology (SAASST) aims to develop, promote and contribute to education in astronomy and space sciences globally and the region. SAASST was inaugurated in 2015 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and Founder of the University of Sharjah, to crown the celebrations of Sharjah as the Capital of Islamic Culture.

SAASST aims at developing and promoting education about astronomy and space sciences in the Arab World in general and for the UAE to be a destination for science, research, heritage, and education. SAASST has seven fully functioning laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art Technology; the CubeSat, the Space Weather & Ionosphere, the Radio Astronomy, the Meteorite Center, the Space Artificial Intelligence, the High Energy Astrophysics, and the Rockets Propulsion and Exhaust Systems.

SAASST is continuously working on expanding its research laboratories to ensure that it is a vital and effective contributor to the development of the Astronomy, Space Sciences & Technology field as well as the space sector.
